ZIMBABWEAN Finance Minister Tendai Biti has disbursed US$ 100 million from the International Monotary Fund (IMF)’s special drawing rights (SDR) allocations for “priority development projects” that have been stalled due to lack of financial resources. SW Radio Africa journalist Lance Guma speaks to award winning film maker Xoliswa Sithole, who spent 9 months in Zimbabwe filming children growing up without an education, while grappling with poverty and starvation. The children are either orphaned by AIDS or caring for parents sick with the disease. Sithole admits to being a child of ZANU PF all her life but says she no longer supports them. What has been the feedback to the heart wrenching footage in the film; Zimbabwe’s Forgotten Children which was broadcast by the BBC last week?
