ZANU PF THUGS DISRUPT FUNERAL

Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) President Clever Bere  suffered a  knee injury  as a result of violence by ZANU PF thugs at the burial site of two MDC activists Goedfrey Kauzani and Cain Nyeve who were killed in cold blood by ZANU PF supporters in Goromonzi on the 18th of May 2008.There was drama at Warren Hills cemetry as close to 300 ZANU PF supporters started beating up MDC mourners during the burial ceremony. Stones, knobkerries, machetes were wielded and it resulted in the injury of many people as they fled the violence. However the ZINASU president has since been discharged from hospital were he received treatment. The funeral was attended by notable civic society leaders from various organisations including Crisis Coalition,ZIMCODD,SST,NCA,ZINASU,YOUTH FORUM,YIDEZ,RHOR,SCMZ,Build a Better Youth and the MDC.We condemn any acts of violence and we are shocked by  ZANU PF's lack of respect even to the dead, what the regime did  is taboo and unhead of in our African culture.  We call upon all progressive Zimbabweans to be alert and remain vigilant against any forces that are disturbing peace.
