 Roy Bennett MUTARE - Roy Bennett has been remanded in custody until 4th March. Charges have been read out and the defence complaints read that Bennett is being illegally detained. The magistrate has ruled that there is enough evidence on the first charge of banditry but insufficient on the 2nd. He does not therefore have the authority to grant bail as it is a third schedule offence and has ruled that Roy be held in custody until the 4th March. The defence will have to appeal to the high court for bail. |
