Model trainer, Siphiwe Sibiya, said she was happy with the finalists who had been selected to battle it out on December 9.
“We are pleased that we completed our selection,” she said. “What we need now is the people’s support, as we want them to come and witness as the new beauty queen is chosen.”
The pageant seeks to exhibit the talent and beauty of young Zimbabwean women based in South Africa. The theme of this year’s pageant is “Proudly Zimbabwean; Truly African”; and organisers hope that it will go a long way towards promoting the many young Zimbabwean women in South Africa.
The inauguration of the beauty pageant was staged in Hillbrow where Sibusisiwe Ncube was crowned Miss Zim-SA, Dudu Phakathi the first Princess and Shyleen Ntokozo Sibanda as the second Princess. The competition is successfully run in other countries such as the UK, Canada and the USA.
